each person outlines some slides and sends them to Trevor, who puts them together and makes it look snazzy. here's the order I'm thinking, and what each person should talk about:
Nate (scientist) - introduction/the basics
what stem cells are
why they look so promising
different kinds (embryonic vs. adult)
get audience familiar with terminology that will be used later on
Trevor (sociologist) - what are people's opinions on the issue?
introduce the different groups having a big impact on the issue (church, scientists, etc)
what does each group think, and what's their reasoning (why is it good, why is it bad...?)
Jenny (lawyer) - what's the status quo?
timeline - walk through the legal history of the issue (important decisions, bans, vetos, etc)
how much can scientists do right now?
what are things looking like for the future?
Pete (educator) - what does the class think?
once we're done explaining everything, I just open it up to discussion
I have a list of questions to get things moving
This just is a basic framework so we can get started; I'm open to changes.
I deleted everything that used to be on this page because it was a mess and most of it has been moved to specific people's pages anyhow. If there's something you need from the old page, here it is.
